Delaney, pastiche by Luis AlpostaJuan José Delaney was born in Buenos Aires in 1954. He belongs to a large Irish-Argentine family and holds the chair in Twentieth Century Argentinean Literature at the Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires).

He is also a fiction writer and essayist: he published Papeles del desierto (short stories) Tréboles del sur (short stories), Moira Sullivan (novel), and  Marco Denevi y la sacra ceremonia de la escritura. Una biografía literaria.

He recently completed the final version of a dramatic comedy called La viuda de O’Malley

At present he is working on literary and linguistic aspects of the Irish immigration process in Argentina.

In March 2012 Ediciones Corregidor will release Memoria de Theophilus Flynn, a new novel related to the Irish in Buenos Aires.
